Lay Llamas is a musical project founded by Nicola Giunta and active since 2012. Sometimes a collective, other times a solo project that is distinguished by a style that mixes psychedelia, krautrock, afrobeat, dub and cosmic music. A sound ipnotic, hauntological and tribal, with strong influences from artisti come Can, Sun Ra, Ash Ra Tempel, Amon Duul and the Italian masters of “library music.” Nicola Giunta is also a creative mind and owner of the art direction of many of the releases under the nameLay Llamas. Hidden Eyes In A Ghost Jungle is a new chapter in Lay Llamas‘ space-time journey.The protagonist (the Traveler) traverses a mysterious jungle that no human being has ever visited before. A jungle whose creatures that inhabit it never manifest themselves overtly remaining instead hidden to observe the Traveler as he traverses those ancient, out-of-time places. The Traveler, however, also carries mysteries with him. He carries with him a burden (The Weight You’re Carrying On) that afflicts him, seeks healing (Let Me Heal) and to obtain it defies the rules of space-time (Through The MagieGateway) finding himself inside obscure liminal zones (Ancient Caves Are Calling Us) that lead to the saving jungle (Suddenly A Ghost Jungle). The trials he will have to overcome are many (Golden Snakes On OurPath; Down To The Waterfall) but a higher entity accompanies and protects the Traveler (Safe And SoundSailing The Holy River) and manifests itself to him in the form of small creatures equipped with many arms clutching brightly colored flowers (The Flowers In Their Hands). At the end of his journey, the Traveler will encounter a strange flame capable of taking a variety of forms.Guided by the small creatures, the Traveler will embrace the flame to burn with it (Everything lsBurning Down Slowly) and dance lightly in the fire along with the small creatures. No burden afflicts him, he is healed and now he is part of the Phantom Jungle.
